One cute boy!

May 24th, 2009

This is my nephew who is nearing the one year mark.  He is doing so good now.  He only has to have oxygen at night, his heart is doing really well!  We are so happy about that!  He came to spend a couple of nights at our house.  He’s such a happy little guy and soooo gushable!

Girls and Chicks

May 14th, 2009

These were taken a few weeks ago.  The chicks look like “teenagers” now, hehe!  I always say that time goes by so quickly but at least my children don’t grow as quickly as a baby animal.  That would be so freaky to have my child look like a teenager in only a few weeks!

The Work

May 13th, 2009

I was recommended this book and I have to say it’s pretty good.  It is a little bit difficult to read but I am really enjoying the concept right now.  It is also a bit difficult because you are faced to look deep into yourself.  Basically everything that may bug you about someone else you turn it around and see that you mirror those things with yourself.  It’s hard for me to explain, easier to just go read it.  But I already like the effect it has been having on me.

Here is a little excerpt from her website on what “The Work” is:

The Work is a simple yet powerful process of inquiry that teaches you to identify and question thoughts that cause all the suffering in the world. It’s a way to understand what’s hurting you, and to address your problems with clarity.

People who do The Work as an ongoing practice report life-changing results.

  • Alleviation of depression: Find resolution, and even happiness, in situations that were once debilitating.
  • Decreased stress: Learn how to live with less anxiety or fear.
  • Improved relationships: Experience deeper connection and intimacy with your partner, your parents, your children, your friends, and yourself.
  • Reduced anger: Understand what makes you angry and resentful, and become less reactive, less often, with less intensity.
  • Increased mental clarity: Live and work more intelligently and effectively, with integrity.
  • More energy: Experience a new sense of ongoing vigor and well-being.
  • More peace: Discover how to become “a lover of what is.”

The chicks are really growing and have made a part time move to their pen outside.  They were introduced to worms yesterday and LOVED them.  All I can say is that made me just about gag………….GROSS!!!  I’m glad I don’t have to eat worms!

Tulips

May 7th, 2009

I have lots of these in my yard right now thanks to my Grandma.  This used to be her home and she spent a long time planting these beautiful flowers that make me smile every time I look outside.  Grandma thanks for your hard work……I can’t help but feel “lighter” when I see what you’ve done!

Childhood

May 5th, 2009

Childhood is the most beautiful of all life’s seasons!

She’s been practicing and perfecting her bike riding skills without any training wheels.  She’s got it down and we’ve been enjoying family bike rides together!   Or just bike rides with mom when older sister is at school.

The girls are growing…

May 5th, 2009

We’ve had them 2 weeks now.  They are getting more feathers and don’t look like the little poof balls anymore!  Time is so fleeting…
