Snowboarding day

First off I just want to say thank you for all of the love and support and prayers that have been offered up to not only my friend Holly but to me.  It was a very difficult and long draining week for all of us.  It’s been awhile since I could physically not even sleep when I tried and of course it was a bazillion times worse for Holly.  She is so strong though and so amazing.  I have no doubts she will pull through this even though the road will be long and hard.  I’m so thankful to have a friend like her, she is such a great example in so many ways.   So thank you for the outpouring of love.

And now for the snowboarding part.  I decided to splurge on season passes for me and the girlies for next season.  The cool thing is that we can also use them for the rest of this season so we went again today.  It was a beautiful day and it was so good to just be with them.  They had to put up with an absentee mom a bit this past week and I just missed them.  So here are a few pics and you can bet I’ll have the latest video up soon!  Thanks for looking!

A sad day!

My dear friend Holly lost her husband today, he passed away!  Holly and I grew up together.  We’ve known each other since we were 3 years old.  We were best friends growing up and played all kinds of sports together.  I was a bridesmaid at her wedding and I’ve gushed and snuggled all 4 of her babies.  The last baby I even got to photograph the birth, it was awesome!  I’m sad today because she lost her life partner, the person she was supposed to grow old with.  The person who was supposed to help raise her children.  Darin.  Man what a guy, he was the life of the party, always happy to see you and to joke with you.  Holly I’m not sure if you’ll ever see this since I know you have so much more on your mind right now.  I just want you to know I love you and I’m here for you.  I’m incredibly sorry that your time with Darin was cut much too short.  You are a wonderful mama and wife.  I know you are strong, but truly know it is okay to not be strong sometimes.  I hope and pray that you and the kids will find peace through this all.  I am here.  I am here if you need to call in the middle of the night or whenever you need someone to just listen.  I’m sorry that our lives have been such that we haven’t been able to hang out all the time and enjoy each other.  But just know I’ve thought of you often over the years and at times when I’ve been feeling down have thought back to days of no cares, where walking on the railings at the horse track or playing basketball at the playground were the most important thing of the day.  I smile at those memories because they were sooooo great!   I again am so sorry, I wish I didn’t feel so helpless to help you.  But just know I am here.

Yesterday the snow that had been on my deck was gone, gone, gone!  Today there was like 17 inches more!  *sigh*  I wish I could find some time to go snowboarding to make this all better!

Riley Sue and the peg leg!

Have you ever seen a horse with a prosthetic leg?  I sure hadn’t.  I just got back from a wedding in Southern Utah and on the way back decided to check out The Best Friend’s Animal Sanctuary.  It’s the largest sanctuary in the nation.  They have a show on TV called Dog Town….maybe you’ve seen it.  Anyway Miss Riley Sue here had a bad injury and after having a plate in her leg for a few years her body rejected it.  The bone had grown over the plate so it was euthanize or amputate.  She was a good candidate personality wise for a peg leg so that’s what she got.  She seems to do pretty good on it, is mostly just waiting for the stump to heal.  You can find more details about Riley at this link, https://www.bestfriends.org/guardianangel/index.cfm?csid=3465&csii=3467&csit=Set

I am HAPPY!!!

So this morning when I walked outside to warm up the car before taking my daughter to school I realized that One I was warm, and Two that I was warm while wearing a T-shirt.  My oh my how I just LURVE this time of year!!!  It is always a long dreary inversion filled winter where I live.  We don’t see much blue sky.  So I LOVE it when there is warmth and BLUE!!!!

I rented a fisheye lens this week for a wedding, it came in the mail today so I took it outside for some snapshots…….notice the BLUE sky.  Notice the snow mostly gone???   Ahhhh Heaven!!

My neighbors house…..south facing lawn = snow ALL gone!

My house, North facing lawn = snow half gone!

Dh refuses to shovel snow.  His theory is that it makes it more slippery/dangerous/icy than if there is a layer of snow.  He also likes to pack down the driveway, I mean he has even been complimented by some delivery men about how good his “pack” is.  So…..as you can see here, only a little bit of the “pack” left too, yay!!!   Now I just gotta get some green grass and blooming flowers and it really will be Heaven!

And the purple teardrop (yes someone really wanted a purple teardrop).  It will be going to it’s new home today and I can have my garage back for parking IN!
