The FURminator!!

For anybody that has a pet, especially a pet that sheds as bad as mine, you’ve got to check out The FURminator. I just recently heard about this dog brush and I’m soooooo sad that I haven’t heard about it years before now! I ordered it online a couple weekends ago and it just came in the big brown truck today. I was so giddy, it was almost like getting camera gear, almost! I ripped open the box and promptly pulled my dog outside. The first stroke I knew it was money well spent. It claims to cut down on shedding up to 90%….I’m a little skeptical of that because seriously I have the worst shedding dog on the planet. But he just feels so slick now, I can tell his coat has thinned out. I think he’s happy too because it’s been in the 90’s here and now that undercoat is gone gone gone! Anyway….if you have a pet, this product may just make you smile! :) p.s. this is only about half of the fur I pulled off of him today. For some reason I trashed the first big pile I got w/o taking a pic!

These last few kids are from a portrait party I did last weekend! Such cute cute kids!

Today as I was checking my bloglines I was excited to see that Jesh de Rox updated his. I always look forward to seeing his blog. He’s either got some fantastic pictures on there or something really good to hear and always a dose of just what I need. Today’s entry really hit home, it was labeled “a decision to simplify”. Go check it out NOW, it’s worth the read!

Over Father’s day weekend we went to my SIL’s house and hung out with her family, as well as my BIL’s family, my FIL, and my Dh’s Grandad from Canada.  My SIL recently got some kittens and oh my goodness did my girls LOVE them.  I think they only put them down to sleep and to go to the pool! hahaha!  So here they are with some of their cousins and the 2 kittens!

Eating Crow

June 20th, 2008

So my girls got it in their heads that they wanted to do a lemonade stand.  I remember having a lemonade stand as a kid and how much fun it was but at the same time how little business we did.  I tried to make up excuses for a few days, we don’t have any paper cups, etc.  Well at the grocery store my oldest took care of that and made sure they were in the cart.  I had no more excuses except that I really didn’t want to do it, didn’t know how many weirdo’s might be out there.  So my lovely Dh, the more patient one of the two of us and definitely the entrepreneur of the family thought it would be great and took them outside to set it up.  I was actually down with the flu the 1st day they tried it but I did manage to go out and snap a quick pic (sorry no creativity here).  I figured they would try it, have little success and move on to other ideas.  Well here is where I eat crow, lol.  People actually stopped.  Cars pulled over, people out for a walk stopped.  It was amazing.  So of course today we set up another one, they were set up for not even 2 minutes when their 1st customer came, and then another, and then another……and then even more.  My husband said he now knows what the author of the book “Rich Dad, Poor Dad” meant when he said “never pass a lemonade stand w/o stopping”.  You can bet we’ll be stopping at the one’s we see in the future!
