Headed down to Moab for spring break with some of the girls from CrossFit. The weather was awesome. I went mountain biking down there for the first time. It kicked my BUTT. It was lots of fun though!

I turned 34. It’s time to admit that yeah I’m that person in my mid thirties. How did I get here? I’m not sure why life has to go by so quickly. A part of me wishes I could stay here forever, I have a probably irrational fear of getting old.

To celebrate my birthday I got to go to Park City and get Level 1 certified for CrossFit. It was awesome! 2 days of getting my butt kicked and also filling my head with lots of good stuff and then a stressful exam that you HAVE to pass at the end. Which I did, whew!

It’s funny how sometimes we come full circle. I was always into sports and fitness growing up. In college I got my degree in Exercise Science. After I had my girls I fell in love with photography. Then I found CrossFit and fell in love with fitness all over again. I started teaching the kids conditioning class last summer and now I teach adult classes as well. So fun to LOVE your job! I’m a lucky girl!

CrossFit

A year ago this month my life changed for the good. I was introduced to CrossFit and I started attending classes at CrossFit UAC. It has been an awesome ride. I’ve never had my butt kicked so much and I’ve never loved it so much. I dare say I’m in the best shape of my life and I EAT so much better too! It’s awesome. These pics were taken when I was only a few months in. I am so much stronger a year later. I am doing things I never dreamed I would be able to do. I can’t wait to see what another year brings.

I ran my first 5k a few months after starting CrossFit. My time was 23 minutes and change and much to my surprise I ended up winning the women’s division. YAY!

One thing I also have to say about CrossFit, looking back I really feel like I was led there somehow. I have made the most amazing friends who I know are in my life for a very good reason and I know they are LIFE-ers!
