Haute Chocolat Couture

February 22nd, 2010

So back awhile ago I did a photoshoot for Haute Chocolat Couture.  Part of the deal was to trade pics for outfits for my girls.  Oh my are they so adorable or what?  I wish it wasn’t freezing cold outside and my yard buried in snow.  I can’t wait for warm weather so we can go out and have a proper photoshoot!

Becky of Haute Chocolat Couture loves custom orders so if you have something you would like send her a note.  You can contact her through her etsy store at http://www.etsy.com/shop/hautechocolat

Halloween!

November 8th, 2009

I told the girls this year they had to choose something out of their piles & piles of dress up clothes.  This is what they came up with.  A lady bug and a snow princess!  Not bad I say!

We lost one of the ends of the antenna so I stuck a spray painted cotton ball on there, oh so redneck!

Thank goodness the weather turned back to warm.  Earlier in the week we had snow and it was COLD!

Apple picking!

October 20th, 2009

We have two apple tree’s and for the last several years they have driven me CRAZY.  We don’t eat enough apples to warrant two tree’s and I get tired of cleaning up after them.  So this year my friend suggested pressing them into juice.  We got about 22 bushels and 60 gallons of the sweetest most delicious apple juice.  I’m so happy that I now have something to do with my apples.

This is near the end of the first day of picking apples.  We decided to fill our trailer with them.

The next day we picked more and had a little help from the cousins.  Here the G-man is pretty content in the apple cart.  He thought it was fun to throw them out after we put them in.

Launching model rockets

October 20th, 2009

A couple weeks ago we decided to go launch some model rockets.  I only attempted a handful of pictures….and only got ONE with the rocket actually in the frame.  They take off soooo quick.

I was mostly snapping pictures of these two cute babies…

Isn’t she sweet?  She reminds me of my Pepper dog who was also an alaskan malamute.  This is Kita our new cousin, haha.  My brother in laws family just got her.  I imagine this is what it is like to have grandchildren…..I can play with her and gush her but I get to leave her there when I’m done.  HAHA!

These two adore each other!

The Rock wall

September 29th, 2009

YES She made it to the top and fast, rang the bell and bounced her way down!

This one started out with a smile and then it quickly turned to a frown.  Later she told me the red rope was pulling her up and it scared her.  Dang, that just makes it easier!

Jeepin’

September 25th, 2009

Last Sunday we took a jeep ride up Left Hand Fork canyon in search of a geocache.  It was a crazy bumpy ride.  We ran into lots of cattle being herded down the mountain.  Saw a huge spring with a crazy pretty waterfall.  Got a few pics of the girls, dirty, sunburned, and HAPPY!

Friendship

September 7th, 2009

“The better part of one’s life consists of her friendships.”
- Abraham Lincoln

This is my friend, the one who’s been around the longest, nearly 30 years now!  (WOW!!!)  You may recall seeing her family on my blog not long ago.  Her dear husband recently passed away and it’s been a long road of up’s and down’s since then.  We decided to get some pictures of her and her beautiful children.  For me it was a blast.  For her I’m sure it was stressful trying to get kids ready, getting them to look, to cooperate.  I loved every minute of it.  My heart can’t help but feel a twinge of pain as I look at her children, especially her oldest and think life is not fair for time to move so swiftly.  It honestly does seem like yesterday that I headed up to the hospital to hold her 1st beautiful baby in my arms.  And then to hold her 2nd, 3rd, and 4th babies who were just as beautiful.  I guess I need to stop stressing over these fleeting moments and truly enjoy them to their fullest.  I tried to do this as I photographed them.  There is something about looking through the lens of my camera, like I can see deep into their soul.  It’s a beautiful thing!  Okay sorry to be all sappy……I’ll let the pictures do the rest of the talking!
