Launching model rockets

October 20th, 2009

A couple weeks ago we decided to go launch some model rockets.  I only attempted a handful of pictures….and only got ONE with the rocket actually in the frame.  They take off soooo quick.

I was mostly snapping pictures of these two cute babies…

Isn’t she sweet?  She reminds me of my Pepper dog who was also an alaskan malamute.  This is Kita our new cousin, haha.  My brother in laws family just got her.  I imagine this is what it is like to have grandchildren…..I can play with her and gush her but I get to leave her there when I’m done.  HAHA!

These two adore each other!

Arm full O’Kitty

June 20th, 2009

Meet “Purr-puss”, he is a most adored kitty and belongs to Aunt N.  He is a big ball of fur.  My daughters have a hard time leaving him alone.  He is soooo good with kids too.  If I were going to be a cat owner, I’d want him!

Girls and Chicks

May 14th, 2009

These were taken a few weeks ago.  The chicks look like “teenagers” now, hehe!  I always say that time goes by so quickly but at least my children don’t grow as quickly as a baby animal.  That would be so freaky to have my child look like a teenager in only a few weeks!

The chicks are really growing and have made a part time move to their pen outside.  They were introduced to worms yesterday and LOVED them.  All I can say is that made me just about gag………….GROSS!!!  I’m glad I don’t have to eat worms!

The girls are growing…

May 5th, 2009

We’ve had them 2 weeks now.  They are getting more feathers and don’t look like the little poof balls anymore!  Time is so fleeting…

The new girls on the block!  Well hopefully they are all girls otherwise they better pretend to be or they won’t be here long, lol.  Starting in the top left corner is Starly (or yellow spot depending on the day), and then top right is Love (don’t ya love that), bottom left is Pecky, and bottom right is Shelly!  Cute little things.  We’ll see if we can keep them alive.

Our other pet!

January 20th, 2009

So a year ago my daughter wanted a gerbil for her birthday!  You may remember me posting about it then.  I didn’t want to get one but Dh said it was okay!  I said okay as long as you take care of cleaning the cage.   HA HA HA……..um I’ve changed it nearly every time! (You reading this babe?)  So we started out with 2 gerbils and low and behold we had a murderer on our hands.  Gerbil “Pops” murdered Gerbil “Tag” who we enjoyed the most.  (Why does it always go that way?)  So petsmart guarantee’s their gerbils for 14 days, this murder took place a couple of days before the deadline.  So we took Pops back and Tags body for proof of the murder.  They exchanged them for two new gerbils.  So pictured up above is Spot, a year ago he had a spot on the top of his head but as he’s grown it went away but we still call him Spot or Spott rather!  He had a little cage mate named “Tag the 2nd” but Tag he wasn’t doing so good from the start.  I did some research on the internet and found out the gerbils are notorious for getting “wet tail disease”, well Tag the 2nd had it so I took him back to Petsmart where they treated him and tried to make him better.  He didn’t make it! :(  We were really in love with Spott so we decided to just have one gerbil.  They say you have to get gerbils from the same cage or litter to have a chance of them not murdering each other and we didn’t want to take that chance again.   So this little guy, he is not very friendly at all.  He likes to bite so we don’t hold him but out of all the gerbils we had he was the most active and fun to watch.  We throw in toilet paper rolls for him to chew on and he can be done with the whole thing in 5 minutes.  He runs on his wheel as soon as the sun goes down until it comes up.  He did escape once for about a week but hunger and thirst brought him back to his cage and we’ve since added a bunch of tunnels and another wheel for him so he doesn’t go crazy.  All in all he’s not as bad as I thought.  A perfect pet I’d say! :) So happy birthday to Spott, not sure of his birthdate but he’s about a year old now!
