So the first few days of the new year were spent out on the property in Nevada. I’ll be truthful, I wasn’t that excited to go, being winter and all. But I went to humor Dh and it wasn’t too bad. When we first got there Dh had some things to do to the shipping container before we could move in our gear and start a fire so I pretty much froze then. Once we got the fire going all was well in the warmth department. I’m just gonna post a handful of pics from the trip here, I’m sure Dh will have a much more exciting commentary on his blog soon!

Obviously some work still to be done (and some cleaning, haha)

Part of the big circular “driveway”, I used it as a track to do laps.

I decided to go jogging and Drew wanted to join me. I don’t think she’s ever really jogged just to jog before, we only went a little over a mile but she stuck with me every step of the way even though she got a crazy sideache and looked like she wanted to be done. Hmm maybe we have another marathoner in the family (aunt N????)
We shot guns, we went to the local Cowboy Bar/Cafe for their “world famous” burgers…..which Dh loves and I think the beef is too thick to eat….but the chicken strips were good! ;) We saw the tiny little school and visited the dump. We hung out with some of the locals. All in all for me it’s a great place to get away from life but I think I’d start to go crazy eventually, especially from not having a shower…..hopefully that will be installed soon!

(Yes I blurred it on purpose…that seems to be the thing to do these days!

Holly got married!!! Yay, yay, yay!!! Made me SO HAPPY!!!! She married a great guy in Randy, I think he perfectly fits into the family. He also lost his wife not so long ago and has 4 boys so now they are a family of TEN! Eight beautiful children, and two beautiful parents in every way. I hope for them only the best, that life will give them every happiness from here on out. I totally think they deserve it!

I posted a bunch more on my other blog….go check ‘em out at www.jbroadhurstphotography.com/blog

I told the girls this year they had to choose something out of their piles & piles of dress up clothes. This is what they came up with. A lady bug and a snow princess! Not bad I say!

We lost one of the ends of the antenna so I stuck a spray painted cotton ball on there, oh so redneck!

Thank goodness the weather turned back to warm. Earlier in the week we had snow and it was COLD!

We have two apple tree’s and for the last several years they have driven me CRAZY. We don’t eat enough apples to warrant two tree’s and I get tired of cleaning up after them. So this year my friend suggested pressing them into juice. We got about 22 bushels and 60 gallons of the sweetest most delicious apple juice. I’m so happy that I now have something to do with my apples.

This is near the end of the first day of picking apples. We decided to fill our trailer with them.

The next day we picked more and had a little help from the cousins. Here the G-man is pretty content in the apple cart. He thought it was fun to throw them out after we put them in.
