Birthday Girl

July 1st, 2009

6 years old today and sadly not feeling well, even puked, ugh!  But we still had a little fun!

Today was not only a birthday but the day that some of our cousins moved to town, the best bday present of all!!!!

We all got hair cuts yesterday too!

Arm full O’Kitty

June 20th, 2009

Meet “Purr-puss”, he is a most adored kitty and belongs to Aunt N.  He is a big ball of fur.  My daughters have a hard time leaving him alone.  He is soooo good with kids too.  If I were going to be a cat owner, I’d want him!

Soccer, soccer, soccer

June 9th, 2009

Spring is a busy time of year for our family.  Both girls play soccer and so we have lots of games and practices.  I feel like I’m a chicken running around with my head chopped off at times but guess what….I LOVE IT!!!!  Here are some pics from their last games of rec league.

Drew in action.  She has been training with a competitive league coach for 2 years but still had to play rec league because she wasn’t old enough for the competitive leagues.  So this was her last hurrah at rec league….her confidence was so strong and she did AMAZING.  It’s so cool to see all the skills (footwork, passing) come into play during a game situation.  As of yesterday she is officially done with rec league and onto competitive league only.  YEAH….but watch out life is about to get a lot crazier for us.

Monkeys!

3 of these girls here will also be on the competitive league team so that will be nice! :)

In their last game they only had 4 girls show up so my youngest daughter got to play with big sister much to her (big sisters) dismay.  Little sister scored 2 goals in that game (the same as big sister).  Here she is on a break away….big sister is in the very back left hand corner looking on with a face that says “yeah right, let’s see what she can do!” LOL.

This is right near the goal.  Laikyn was in perfect position to block Drew’s shot on goal…..whoops!

Hey Lakes….open your eyes!

I’ve definitely felt like this at times with my own kids.  Chaos.  But I love it.  Most days. ;)

Crazy hair day!

June 1st, 2009

Last week the girls had track and field day at school.  Part of that includes seeing who can come up with the craziest hair.  They sure had fun being silly!

One cute boy!

May 24th, 2009

This is my nephew who is nearing the one year mark.  He is doing so good now.  He only has to have oxygen at night, his heart is doing really well!  We are so happy about that!  He came to spend a couple of nights at our house.  He’s such a happy little guy and soooo gushable!

Girls and Chicks

May 14th, 2009

These were taken a few weeks ago.  The chicks look like “teenagers” now, hehe!  I always say that time goes by so quickly but at least my children don’t grow as quickly as a baby animal.  That would be so freaky to have my child look like a teenager in only a few weeks!

The Work

May 13th, 2009

I was recommended this book and I have to say it’s pretty good.  It is a little bit difficult to read but I am really enjoying the concept right now.  It is also a bit difficult because you are faced to look deep into yourself.  Basically everything that may bug you about someone else you turn it around and see that you mirror those things with yourself.  It’s hard for me to explain, easier to just go read it.  But I already like the effect it has been having on me.

http://www.thework.com

Here is a little excerpt from her website on what “The Work” is:

The Work is a simple yet powerful process of inquiry that teaches you to identify and question thoughts that cause all the suffering in the world. It’s a way to understand what’s hurting you, and to address your problems with clarity.

People who do The Work as an ongoing practice report life-changing results.

  • Alleviation of depression: Find resolution, and even happiness, in situations that were once debilitating.
  • Decreased stress: Learn how to live with less anxiety or fear.
  • Improved relationships: Experience deeper connection and intimacy with your partner, your parents, your children, your friends, and yourself.
  • Reduced anger: Understand what makes you angry and resentful, and become less reactive, less often, with less intensity.
  • Increased mental clarity: Live and work more intelligently and effectively, with integrity.
  • More energy: Experience a new sense of ongoing vigor and well-being.
  • More peace: Discover how to become “a lover of what is.”
